- 2 cup pecans
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp Vanilla extract
Start by preheating the oven to 350°F. Grab a baking sheet and lay in a silicone mat if you have one.
In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar, 1/2 cup of water, 1 TBSP of Butter, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves.
Once the sugar has dissolved, add in the toasted pecans and stir until they are coated evenly with the sugar mixture. Continue to cook the pecans in the saucepan, stirring frequently, until the sugar mixture thickens and becomes syrupy.
The final step is to bake the coated pecans to perfection. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the pecans out in a single layer. Bake them in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar coating is caramelized and the pecans are golden brown.
To start, let’s talk about the ingredients you will need. The base of this recipe is pecans, of course, but you will also need sugar, butter, and salt. You can also add other spices or flavors, such as vanilla extract or cayenne pepper, to customize the recipe to your liking. The process of making candied pecans involves coating the pecans in a mixture of melted butter and sugar, then baking them in the oven until they are caramelized and crispy. It’s a simple recipe with delicious results.
