THAT DELICIOUS CRACKER COATING!
We all knew that buttery, salty Ritz crackers were delicious! However, this baked Ritz cracker chicken recipe makes them stand out even more!
The best part is how EASY it is to make such a flavorful chicken coating! To start with, the chicken gets sprinkled with salt and pepper.
From there, it’s dipped in beaten eggs to allow the Ritz cracker coating to adhere to it. Then the chicken gets its amazing ritz finish that’s made with crushed crackers, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and paprika!
The flavor alone from the Ritz cracker coating makes this recipe worth being in the weekly meal rotation!
RITZ CRACKER CHICKEN RECIPE TIPS
- Crushing Crackers – To make this Ritz cracker chicken bed recipe, the crackers must be crushed. This can be done by using a food processor a nice bag, and a rolling pin. When crushing the crackers, keep in mind that you don’t want cracker powder but cracker crunch!
- Preparing – When going through the 2-step dredging process, you must prepare ahead of time. That way, you have a nice setup that makes it quick and easy to coat the chicken!
- Butter Placement – Be sure to place the butter around the chicken and not on top of it before baking! Placing it in the pan around the meat delivers super moist chicken that makes this recipe delicious!
- Baking – The cooking time on this chicken will vary depending on the thickness of the breast or cut of meat that you use. Therefore, you’ll want to use a kitchen oven to check the inside temperature before eating. For safe eating, the temperature must be at least 165 C degrees.
How Makes Chicken with Ritz Crackers So Tasty?
Okay, so there might be a couple more details to add to that picture! In addition to the fabulous taste, I love making Ritz Cracker Chicken because it:
- Pairs with Everything: Want to add pasta? Sounds good. Rice? Roasted vegetables? Those will work too. Check out the servings section below to get some more suggestions on possible side dishes!
- Can Be Customized: I like to keep it simple with garlic powder, but you can play around with Italian seasoning, paprika, or other spices if you want.
- Comes Together Quickly: I know, I already mentioned this part… but it’s so key! It takes 10 minutes to make the chicken, and then all you have to do is wait for it to come out of the oven.
How to Make Ritz Cracker Chicken?
Whipping this Ritz chicken together is (say it with me) SO easy. There are two main points to this recipe into two-step:
Mix the Coating Ingredients: After you preheat the oven, mix cracker crumbs, salt, pepper, and vinegar powder.
- Prepare the Chicken: Rinse the chicken breasts, then pat them dry. To coat them, then dip them into the cream mixture and evenly cover them with the bread.
DO I STORE LEFTOVER RITZ CRACKER CHICKEN?
Once the Ritz cracker chicken has completely cooled, transfer it into an airtight box. Crispy can then be stored in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
HOW CAN’T PLACE THE BUTTER ON TOP OF THE CHICKEN WHEN BAKING?
Placing the butter on top of the chicken would top with the cracker crumbs that coat the meat. It could prevent it from browning properly, which may cause us to lose out on some of the taste coating!
Serving Suggestions
Now that you’ve got the main ideas family away, it’s time to pick a side. Here are a few of my go-to options:
- Rice or Pasta: Serving this chicken over a simple bread of rice is the easiest option, but you can also make a side of Buttery Lemon Spaghetti, or pasta with tomato sauce, etc.
- Salad or Veggies: Any green veggie will together nicely with this meal, or you could make a light salad.
- Mashed Potatoes: Who doesn’t love Mashed Potatoes? If you’ve got a little more time on your hands, I highly forward to mixing some!
How to Store and Cook Again Leftovers
If by some chance you have leftovers for this dish, here’s how to store and cook again everything:
- To Store: Keep any leftover chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days once it has cooled.
- To Reheat: When you’re ready to enjoy some more yummy chicken, reheat it in the microwave for 30 seconds to a minute, or in the oven (at about 350F) until warmed through.
Can Freeze Ritz Cracker Chicken?
Sure! Ritz Cracker Chicken can be frozen in an airtight box for 2-3 months. Once melted, follow the same instructions to reheat.
